Pop Suede: The Twilight Saga: Eclipse: with Cats

Pop Suede: The Twilight Saga: Eclipse: with Cats
Another student posted this on their blog the Secret Ninja Club, and it originally came from a blog called Pop Suede. After a very trying day, it made me laugh out-loud. We took our daughter to see the movie the day it opened. This parody is better than the real thing. Hope you enjoy it immensely.

  1. ha! cute. considering i don't get the references, what I liked the most was the fighting cats bit at the end. adorable.

I've heard only negative things about twilight. Stuff like "the girl is defined by the men in her life and has no individual personality or existence"

I haven't read any books, or seen any movies, so I'd like to hear what an actual parent thinks of twilight. So, what do you think its value is?

I mean, I remember people complaining about harry potter, too, but in the end I think the effect on kids was positive. Even though for the life of me I can't think of much value beyond getting kids to read. Is that enough? I read Cynthia Voigt when I was 12, and I still remember the ideas I got out of it. So are Twilight and Harry Potter comparable?

  2. I think Twilight appeals less to boys, although there are some who are fans. Also, I think some of the plots in Harry Potter were more complex, and the girl characters less needy. However, Bella seems to strike a chord in the hearts of teen girls. So, Meyers must be touching on some common emotion they are experiencing. I find the movies to be ok. This third one was better than the second, which stank to high heaven. I'm no longer riddled with teen girl angst, so two hours of watching it wore on my nerves. What we do to spend time with our kids . . .
